OUR NEXT EVENT:
Tuesday September 23rd 7:30pmAn Introduction to Cornish Crosses
Speaker: Andrew Langdon
Andrew Langdon has been recording and researching the stone crosses of Cornwall, as well as medieval ecclesiastical monuments more generally, throughout his lifetime, beginning when he was still at school.
He has written extensively on the crosses including ‘Ancient and High Crosses of Cornwall’ (an illustrated guide to 100 of the finest early Cornish stone crosses dating from around AD 900 to 1300). He also has much practical experience repairing and restoring stone crosses including the repair of Truro’ s High Cross after it was damaged by a road accident and left in pieces on the ground.
Do come along and join us to find out more about this fascinating subject from the expert.
Who are we?

The Perranarworthal Local History Group (PLHG) was formed by a group of local people who shared a common interest in finding out more about the history and origins of the place they lived in and the surrounding area. The PLHG committee was established in May 2017 and began to organise meetings, and arrange walks and talks on subjects of interest. There is now a regular programme of events for people to enjoy and we encourage everyone to participate and contribute to furthering our aims.
What are our Aims and Objectives?
