OUR NEXT EVENT:

Tuesday July 13th 2:30pm
A Walk in the North East – Bissoe and Greenwith
Steve Hartgroves, our Chairman, will be leading a walk around the north-eastern part of the parish

We’ll meet in the car park at Dunstan’s Bridge, just north of the railway viaduct at 2:30.

This area is surprisingly rich in medieval and industrial history and we’ll be exploring the old trackways through ancient field systems, visiting the medieval settlements of Bissoe and Greenwith, and taking in a section of the mineral tramway trail along the river valley.
The walk is about 2 miles (or 3km ) which at a leisurely pace will require about 2 hours.
Do come and join us.
A Walk in the North East

Who are we?

The Perranarworthal Local History Group (PLHG) was formed by a group of local people who shared a common interest in finding out more about the history and origins of the place they lived in and the surrounding area. The PLHG committee was established in May 2017 and began to organise meetings, and arrange walks and talks on subjects of interest. There is now a regular programme of events for people to enjoy and we encourage everyone to participate and contribute to furthering our aims.

What are our Aims and Objectives?

…to appreciate, investigate, study, research, record promote and protect the archaeology and history of Perran-ar-worthal.
