Cornish Christmas Customs
Speaker: Dr Jo Mattingly

Jo will tell us about the many Cornish Christmas Traditions from Tudor times onwards as revealed in documentary sources over time. There will also be tastings from the Cornish Christmas table. We will provide some traditional drinks and nibbles to help to get the Christmas celebrations started…so come along and join in the fun.

Who are we?

The Perranarworthal Local History Group (PLHG) was formed by a group of local people who shared a common interest in finding out more about the history and origins of the place they lived in and the surrounding area. The PLHG committee was established in May 2017 and began to organise meetings, and arrange walks and talks on subjects of interest. There is now a regular programme of events for people to enjoy and we encourage everyone to participate and contribute to furthering our aims.

What are our Aims and Objectives?

…to appreciate, investigate, study, research, record promote and protect the archaeology and history of Perran-ar-worthal.
